Designing your house abroad must be tough, sometimes even if you work with a professional designer remotely. Last year I had to deal with some of the consequences of purchasing furniture online. My clients contacted me for a small makeover that made a huge difference in their summer home in Lugano: when the moved they’ve discovered that the tall bar with it’s chunky chairs was uncomfortable to use because of it’s height and just was not right for the young and coastal house they’ve built.
So I came up with a more linear solution: a superior quality linen textured quartz was used to build a custom bar counter, paired with comfortable, natural colored and completely weatherproof braided ropes stools. Now the pieces come together with the kitchen, they look lightweight and cosy to sit back and relax in with a cup of coffe or glass of wine.
